Elizabeth Fraser — artist printmaker & designer

I love my calculator even if my memories of the A Level maths lessons are not so fond. This is part of an occasional series of works celebrating our extra cranial mathematical friends. My own is the one on the table in the first picture. I spent time admiring and drawing calculators in the Francis Hookham Collection of Handheld Calculators at the Whipple Museum of the History of Science in Cambridge. After converting them to positives for making two colour screenprints I used a bright, optimistic colour palette to bring the joy of playing with numbers to life.
