This print began as an exploration of the familiarity of a pack of cards. My daughter is an expert house of cards builder and as I watched her delicately coax a fragile structure to life I realised that life is like a pack of cards, multifaceted, rich in character and quite random in the hands it deals. This piece is based on an actual structure in which two cards fell out yet the whole fragile balance remained steady...an apt metaphor for sustainability.
